It may be cold and blustery in New England right now, but before we know it, high school students will be dressing in formal attire, pinning on flowers, and heading off to prom. Grace Limousine and Shuttle has had the pleasure of providing transportation for thousands of prom attendees, from couples to large groups. In fact, lately we have seen second generations of families book their prom rides with Grace! Since prom is often the first time many parents and students have booked high-end transportation, we’ve received a lot of questions over the years. What are the best ways to ensure a safe, luxurious, comfortable ride to dinner, the prom, and the after party?

  1. Plan ahead.

Many schools have their proms on the same nights, so book early to be sure you have access to the vehicle you want.

Ask your transportation provider if a prom coordinator will help you plan this special evening. If you book with Grace, our coordinator will act as a consistent point of contact to help you with all the details and surpass your expectations. We strive to make prom a fun and safe event for everyone.

  1. Explore your options.

Do you need transportation for two or for a group? Do you envision a traditional stretch limo, a Sprinter with all of the entertainment options, or a motorcoach? Can the limo company provide extras like sodas and snacks or decorations?

  1. Plan your itinerary.

Will all of the students be picked up and dropped off at the same location? If not, what are the charges for multiple stops?

  1. See what others think.

Check Google Reviews to research what customers have to say about the companies you are considering.

  1. Be a savvy shopper.

If you see an online coupon or sale for prom transportation that is much lower than the going rate, check to see that there are no hidden fees or upcharges that will leave you with a higher bill than you expected.

  1. Most importantly, stay safe.

Your transportation provider should have an alcohol policy for underage passengers. Grace has a zero-tolerance policy for smoking, drinking, and drugs.

Vehicle and driver safety is critical, too. Only hire a licensed and insured transportation provider; anyone can buy a vehicle and claim to be a limo company. A licensed and insured company will have an up-to-date livery certification, and their vehicles will be DOT-inspected, maintained, and safe. They will provide training for their drivers and perform background checks before they hire them. They will have extensive insurance, providing you with peace of mind. All Grace chauffeurs undergo exhaustive safety training, background checks, and random drug testing.

Transportation companies with significant prom transportation experience will offer other safety specifications as well. At Grace, a complete itinerary is required in advance, so all parties know the details of the evening. Our prom guidelines and parental consent will help to ensure that everyone is on the same page right from the start. Upon request, status updates can be texted to parents to help put their minds at ease.

We would love to talk to you about our prom packages and help you plan an unforgettable night. Call us at 603-666-0203 or sign up for more information.
